But, what these places fail to understand is that the people who are working for them are actually real people with emotions, at one point executives and management personnel recognized this but along the way, their views are skewed through competitiveness or pure greed.

Sometimes all it takes is a simple thank you and other forms of acknowledgement other than pay raises or other perks to energize your workforce and boost your company culture into a fun and healthy environment for everyone.

You know the success of your business rests on the shoulders of your employees. That’s why you offer them a raise, put a billiards table in the staff room and provide other “cool” perks, like a gym membership.

Saying “thank you” can go a long way toward improving employees’ perceptions of the workplace, but it doesn’t have to stop there. Acknowledging why you’re grateful can have an even more powerful impact.

Reinforcing behavior that that benefits the company on a level much deeper than profit margins, these types of behaviors will create a culture within the company that will build a lasting foundation and bring down turn over rates and employee confidence in the company.
